The short version: nothing non-essential runs until you say yes. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, or third-party marketing pixels — not because a policy forbids it, but because we have no use for them.

What we store

  • Essential — always active

gxpol-theme — your light or dark preference. gxpol-consent — your answer to the cookie banner, so we do not ask again. Both are stored in your browser's local storage, never sent to us, and used for nothing else.

  • Analytics — only with consent

If you accept, we load privacy-first, cookieless analytics that count page views. It sets no cookie, assigns no persistent identifier, and cannot follow you to other sites. If you decline, the script is never loaded at all — not loaded-and-disabled.

  • Client portal

When you sign in to the portal, your access key is held in session storage for that browser tab only and is cleared when the tab closes. This is strictly necessary to keep you signed in.

Changing your mind

Clear your browser's storage for this site and the banner will appear again on your next visit, letting you choose afresh. Declining analytics does not degrade the site in any way.

Why we ask at all

Because consent for non-essential analytics is required under UK PECR, the GDPR and Jersey data protection law — and because asking is the honest thing to do even where an argument could be made that cookieless analytics is exempt.
